Pay Range: $86,917.00 - $130,376.00
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
What You’ll Be Doing
Responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the Credit Union's reputation, manage crises, and promote key strategies and initiatives. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Media Relations: Execute public relations strategies to support the Credit Union’s goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align PR efforts with marketing and business strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, including journalists, editors, and influencers.
- Craft and distribute press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials.
- Pitch stories and secure media coverage for Credit Union’s news, events, and initiatives.
- Content Creation: Write and edit a variety of content, including press releases, speeches, articles, and social media posts.
- Develop and manage the Credit Union’s content calendar to ensure consistent and effective messaging.
- Crisis Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential issues.
- Serve as a key spokesperson during crises, providing timely and accurate information to the media and public.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and build strong relationships.
- Develop and maintain a database of contacts and media lists.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze media coverage and PR metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management.
Additional Job Functions
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment-related actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related field required.
- Master's Degree preferred.
- 5-7 years of previous related experience in public relations, preferably in a corporate or agency setting required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with media relations and crisis management.
- Familiarity with PR software and tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater, Hootsuite).
- Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in public relations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
