Salary Range: $76,280 to $85,000
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
The Manager of Media Production Infrastructure owns the highest level of broadcast media and audio / video production infrastructure at the University of St. Thomas. This position manages the media production engineering team that supports the full lifecycle of highest level broadcast media production infrastructure. This position is a trusted partner of high-level internal clients including Athletics, Academic Media, and university-level production systems owners. This position includes supporting the multipurpose hockey & basketball arena. This position includes some evening and weekend hours.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the ITS media production systems engineering team. Determine the team’s daily, near and long range goals. Manage team’s standards and operational model.

Supervise and support university-wide highest level broadcast media production infrastructure technology with a team of staff (full time and on-call casual), students, and contractors (separate from Athletics or third party media productions), both during normal business hours and on evenings and weekends.

In tandem with the ITS Director of Media Innovation Services, ITS Athletics Media Production Systems Engineer and ITS Media Production Systems Technician, manage the maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrading, and replacement lifecycle for all core broadcast media production technologies. Oversee break-fix and lifecycle replacement equipment budget. Refine and update athletics venues and OEC multi-camera studio technologies. Coordinate and engage with coaches and administrators on the preparation, upgrade, and design of athletics media production technology systems. Work with internal ITS teams, university departments and external vendors on the installation of mission critical media production systems.

Oversee and manage media production technology projects in partnership with ITS, Athletics senior administration, and Facilities including the research, design, and construction of new media production systems as facilities are remodeled or updated and as new facilities are built.

Alongside Athletics External Affairs team, determine budget, projects, and staffing models to support Athletics’ media production team needs. Maintain strong relationship between ITS and Athletics.

Train and support users on how to use media production technology systems. Create documentation and knowledge articles for new systems and maintain existing documentation for media production equipment and systems. Engage in ongoing professional development to continue to grow personal knowledge and skill sets.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications

B.A. or B.S. degree in a relevant field

Minimum five plus years of increasing roles of responsibility

Professional level experience providing broadcast media technology support to a variety of constituents, preferably in a higher education environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate degree in a related discipline and/or experience with supporting D1 athletics infrastructure, game day events, complex audiovisual systems, and multicamera broadcast studio
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
