is seeks an experienced Emergency Medical Services Registered Nurse to serve as the
Emergency Communications Nurse Manager (ECN Manager)
and provide direct oversight of CONFIRE's Emergency Communications Nurse System (ECNS) Program and its staff.
CONFIRE
is a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Regional Emergency Communications and Information Services provider located in San Bernardino County California established to provide communications, dispatch, computer information systems support (IS), and geographic information systems (GIS) to CONFIRE members and contract agencies. We serve 13 fire agencies in San Bernardino County with 24/7/365 direct fire, EMS, and rescue dispatch services. Essential duties include: Plan, organize, coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Nurse Triage Center (NTC); provide oversite and supervision to the nursing staff, Develop, implement, and evaluate NTC services; administer the quality improvement program within the NTC. Complete records and create reports; monitor compliance with Federal, State, and local standards and regulations and maintain department adherence. Work collaboratively with internal departments and external agencies to advance the objectives of the organization. Develop policies, procedures, standards, and protocols for prehospital care programs within the NTC; participate in long term and long-range strategic planning for the unit. Ensure proper training, continuous improvement, and protocol review of the NTC; provide feedback to leadership for improvement in working conditions, patient care and system performance. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Work Location: Must be able to report to either Rialto or Hesperia to meet the needs of the department.
Certifications:
Emergency Communication Nurse System
(ECNS) and Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certifications must be successfully completed as part of the orientation and maintained throughout employment.
Minimum Requirements License:
Must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Certification:
Must possess and maintain a current valid California Class C Driver's License. EMD, ECN and ECN-Q certifications (upon hire). Current ACLS/BLS. Experience:
Three (3) years of recent experience (within the past five (5) years) as a Registered Nurse in an emergency department or prehospital setting. Two (2) years of management experience in a medical environment. Desired Qualifications Program management, MICN, and case management experience as well as knowledge of the pre-hospital system in San Bernardino County, are highly desired. The ideal candidate will have experience in the field of Emergency Medical Services and possess the following skills:
Able to actively listen and communicate clearly in order to give and understand live-saving directions; Able to multitask and remain calm while communicating with patients in order to reassure them and explain procedures; Able quickly analyze a situation, develop options, adapt and react quickly to changes, and make quick decisions; Able to identify symptoms and causes of injuries and use best measures to address the issue; Emergency department and MICN experience highly desirable. Program or case management experience highly desirable. Knowledge and experience of the pre-hospital system in San Bernardino County, highly desirable. MICN certification or experience is highly desirable.
