Morgan Stanley's Marketing Research and Insights team is the driver of the collection and analysis of client insights and decision support for the entire firm. The Associate will be a core part of our Firmwide Marketing team.
This individual should have experience managing projects from end-to-end, working cross-functionally to ensure success for a wide range of stakeholders, and delivering results in research roles at consumer-focused companies that identify people's needs, motivations, and concerns through the application of research techniques to inform the development of new features, products, and strategies.
This position will have the opportunity to work on a variety of market research initiatives across Morgan Stanley, including branding and advertising, competitive landscape analysis, customer experience, and more. In particular, candidates must have a keen interest in translating data (both quantitative and qualitative) into actionable recommendations, serving as the voice of the customer for internal stakeholders. This person should display strong communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, commitment to quality, project management, and demonstrated initiative.
What You'll Do In The Role
Implementing quantitative and qualitative research techniques and determination of optimal research approaches given objectives Drafting research questionnaires or discussion guides for quantitative and qualitative projects based on stakeholders' needs and goals Managing survey programming independently and assisting with the day-to-day operations of fielding and executing a wide range of research initiatives Willingness to moderate focus groups and in-depth interviews and comfort presenting project findings in a group setting to senior leaders Possesses strong analytical and data storytelling skills to support marketing performance measurement and uncover actionable research insights Drive collaboration with internal and external teams to extract, synthesize, and communicate insights from marketing data and research studies Contributing to measurement and effectiveness reporting for Morgan Stanley's Firmwide Marketing team Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize simultaneous projects which require different responsibilities, as well as to manage to tight time constraints
What You'll Bring To The Role
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree, with a preferred (but not required) focus on market research, statistics, marketing, marketing science, or psychology At least 3 years of demonstrated experience in a research or consulting-focused role, preferably (but not required) in financial services Proficiency with online survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics) Proficiency with using tools for data analysis, like Microsoft Excel Proficiency with tools for telling clear, compelling stories with data, like Microsoft PowerPoint Strong attention to detail and comfort with ambiguity Excellent writing skills and presentation skills Experience managing multiple responsibilities and driving a variety of projects towards success Strong team player and collaborator Comfort with statistical software (e.g., SPSS or SAS) and/or with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau) a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $105,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
