Skills and Attributes: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of instructional strategies, behavioral interventions, and adaptive technologies used to support students with disabilities. Ability to modify lesson plans and assessments to meet the needs of diverse learners. Compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact in the lives of students with special needs. Ability to maintain a well-organized and structured classroom environment. Requirements: Must possess a current Pennsylvania Special Education Teacher certification, with endorsement in Special Education PK-12. Successful completion of a criminal background check and Child Abuse History Clearance as required by state law. First Aid and CPR certification (preferred). Flexibility to attend school events, meetings, and training sessions as required. Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our school. The Special Education Teacher will work with students who have a range of disabilities, including physical, learning, emotional, and developmental challenges. This role involves creating and delivering individualized educational plans (IEPs), fostering an inclusive classroom environment, and collaborating with other school staff, parents, and specialists to ensure student success. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, ensuring they meet academic, social, and emotional needs. Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a variety of settings, including inclusive classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one. Adapt curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students, using specialized teaching techniques and accommodations as outlined in the IEPs. Collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, school psychologists, and other support staff to ensure the delivery of a well-rounded educational experience for all students. Provide direct instruction and support to students in areas such as reading, math, social skills, and behavioral management. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and assessments. Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school-wide activities to engage with students and families. Implement behavioral interventions and strategies to support students in achieving their IEP goals and promoting positive behavior in the classroom.
