Vice President of Marketing and Communications Bay Area Panthers, San Jose / Oakland, CA (Hybrid About the Role : The Bay Area Panthers, a premier professional football team, are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Marketing and Communications to join our leadership team. Reporting to the Team President, this pivotal role will serve as a strategic thought partner, shaping and executing marketing strategies to elevate the Panthers' brand and drive commercial growth. The Vice President will be responsible for developing and refining marketing initiatives that support ambitious goals for revenue, attendance, and audience engagement while maximizing profitability. The Vice President of Marketing and Communications will establish the marketing infrastructure and essential processes needed to fully leverage current programming and revenue opportunities. This role will develop a sustainable, scalable operating model to support existing initiatives and expand into new content ventures. Key responsibilities include overseeing marketing P&L management, leading a high-performing team, and promoting the Bay Area Panthers brand. Additionally, the Vice President will enhance the return on investment (ROI) of refined consumer marketing strategies while crafting compelling brand narratives and positioning. This will strengthen the Panthers' presence across media channels and engage diverse audience segments. Key Responsibilities : Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy to promote the Panthers brand, with a focus on audience growth, engagement, and revenue generation. Analyze market trends, audience insights, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and refine messaging. Establish marketing goals and KPIs, including ticket sales targets, brand awareness metrics, and digital engagement benchmarks. Lead the creation of integrated marketing campaigns that leverage digital, social, grassroots, PR, partnerships, email, influencer, and content marketing channels to maximize reach and impact. Collaborate with internal and external creative teams to develop high-impact, on-brand content that resonates with target audiences. Manage the marketing budget, optimizing channel spend to achieve high ROI. Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all touchpoints, from digital content to on-site experiences. Oversee social media strategy and execution, growing follower base and engagement on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter. Utilize analytics and data-driven insights to measure campaign performance, inform decisions, and continually refine marketing efforts. Prepare regular reports on marketing performance, audience insights, and sales metrics for executive leadership. Implement A / B testing, audience segmentation, and retargeting strategies to improve conversion rates and personalize marketing efforts. Collaborate with the partnerships team to seamlessly integrate sponsor activations into marketing and event experiences. Partner with the ticketing team to develop marketing plans to drive ticket sales growth Assist in identifying, developing, and activating strategic partnerships to expand brand reach and audience engagement. Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing or sports marketing. Proven track record of developing commercially and brand centric marketing campaigns. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and creatively to develop innovative marketing solutions. Experience in event planning and management. Passion for sports and an understanding of the football industry.
