Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Video Conferencing Engineer to deploy modern VC equipment in hundreds of rooms across the service territory.
- The ideal candidate has experience with design, engineering, coordinating with installers and troubleshooting systems.
- This resource will be the only layer of technical support and is responsible for user education and support.
- Approximately 50% of work will be in-office, supporting installations and troubleshooting.
- Contractor travel will be local within the Columbus, OH area.
- Potential for occasional after-hours work if an installation goes past normal business hours.
Essential Job Functions & Tasks:
- Perform infrastructure project assignments.
- Plan, research, evaluate and design infrastructure solutions.
- Provide a high level of technical support and analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Adhere to client approval processes as part of change management, incident management and trouble response scenarios.
- Prepare cost estimates, justifications, application requirements, alternative solutions, and technical recommendations.
- Prepare technical documentation including procedures, manuals, and reports.
- Review and adhere to budgeting and approval processes while assisting with annual and project planning.
- May provide training and mentoring to others on the team.
Basic Qualifications:
- 4 years of video conf software engineering experience with modern tools.
- Software experience in MS Teams & Zoom.
- Physical hardware experience with Modern Video Conference Room equipment.
- Network and Security protocols and configurations.
- Candidate must highlight specific examples of engineering/design, implementation, user education/support, technical troubleshooting support.
- Excellent Written and Verbal Skills.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.
- 7 years of relevant work experience is required.
