While Dazed has been around for 30+ years, our NY team is very much in startup mode.ABOUT THE ROLEDazed Studio, the cultural and creative agency by Dazed Media, is seeking a mid-weight Creative / Art Director. This role will be responsible for the art direction, creative conceptualisation, development and delivery of large and small scale commercial projects providing integrated marketing solutions across experiential, stunts, digital, and traditional media formats.The Studio team brings the creative, editorial, design and production capabilities of Dazed Media to clients. Dazed Studio works with a multitude of brands across all sectors, building and delivering bespoke offerings inclusive but not limited to: advertorials and microsites, events, video and audio productions, seeding and activation of content, contract publishing and creative consultancy. Currently seeking candidates in the NYC metro region only. Duties, Responsibilities & DeliverablesIdeation and art direction for brand partnerships and advertising campaigns, overseeing the process from inception to completion.Demonstrate a strong understanding of integrated creative development, formalise ideas and concepts into compelling presentation formats, and use art direction expertise to produce outputs across stills, films, digital media, print and all other formats.Ensure conceptual and creative strength, aligning with Dazed Media's brand and client requirements; contribute to the development of engaging proposals and confidently present them to internal and external stakeholders keeping Dazed's culture, values, and creativity at the forefront.Partner with Creative Strategists to ensure intentional, innovative and thought provoking outputs.Collaborate closely with the Production team, namely Producers and Project Managers/Directors, on Studio projects and briefs.Manage the commissioning of content from external suppliers, providing clear briefs and overseeing their work.Manage deadlines, feedback, and other project requirements with agility.Demonstrate efficiency, agility and confidence on set.Mentor junior team members and assist the senior team on larger projects.Stay updated on digital art, design, technology, and talent trends, ensuring innovative and future-facing work.Being a Dazed ambassador internally and externally.Being actively interested in learning about the Dazed brand.Taking part in the wider Dazed Media events.Skills, Experience & Personal AttributesStrong background visual/graphic design or copywriting direction4-5 years of experience in the creative industry, including 360 campaigns, content creation, or other creative projects. Agency experience is a plus.Proficient in digital and video work; passionate about creating innovative content and experiences across all platforms and working strategically with varied team members to deliver inventive, disruptive and performing campaigns and content.Attention to detail and proficiency in post-production, managing multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality campaigns.Advanced proficiency in Adobe Suite.Strong knowledge of internet culture, fashion, graphic & fine arts, design, photography & film, and the ability to apply it creatively in commercial settings.Strong communication skills, adept at articulating ideas and concepts, as well as effectively conveying needs, opinions, and challenges to managers while proactively addressing them.Ability to work collaboratively and independently.Ability to work quickly and adaptably without compromising quality.Strong organisational skills suitable for a fast-paced environment.Enthusiastic and proactive attitude, fostering collaborative team dynamics and driving projects forward.These duties and responsibilities are indicative and not exhaustive but serve to give a realistic overview of the role and requirements.
