Our portfolio includes the USA TODAY NETWORK, Newsquest in the UK, LocaliQ, and USA TODAY NETWORK Ventures. We are seeking a Head of Subscription Sales and Engagement for the Des Moines Register . The successful candidate will develop and lead strategic plans to drive subscriber acquisition, increase engagement, and reduce churn. This role reports to the consumer subscription and revenue team, with a dotted line to the local GM, and requires work in Des Moines 60% of the time. Salary :
105,000 annually Key Responsibilities : Develop and oversee sales and engagement strategies, including audience growth plans. Collaborate with news teams on marketing initiatives to support subscription growth, including newsletters, SMS, social media, and native apps. Manage social media advertising and SEM campaigns to boost subscriptions and engagement. Ensure website and ad functionality for print and digital subscriptions. Lead in-app campaigns and analyze results, adjusting strategies as needed. Participate in local events to promote subscriptions and brand awareness. Coordinate with enterprise and analytics teams to optimize results and track performance. Maintain documentation on trends, YOY changes, and anomalies. Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree 5+ years in sales and marketing, with 2+ years in subscription sales Experience creating social and onsite ads, SEO / SEM knowledge Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Analytics, and project management tools Strong strategic planning, data analysis, and communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities Ability to work in Des Moines as required Equal Opportunity Statement : Gannett Co., Inc. is committed to diversity and equal employment opportunity.
