Join to apply for the Volunteer: Educational Grant Writer role at West Place Animal Sanctuary.
Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, releasing healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. The sanctuary also serves as the lost dog shelter for Tiverton and Little Compton. West Place has a network of over 75 volunteers providing essential animal care daily, and offers unique humane education experiences to students to foster community compassion.
We operate a comprehensive internship program for high school and college students, offering hands-on experience that is in high demand. The program runs during summer and the school year, engaging about 75 students annually. To maintain this free program, we seek volunteer grant writers to help fund it through grants, as it constitutes a significant part of our budget.
This volunteer role is flexible: it can be performed remotely or onsite at 3198 Main Road, Tiverton, RI 02878. Grant writers will collaborate with the Executive Director.
This opportunity is facilitated by VolunteerMatch in partnership with LinkedIn for Good.
