Role: Piping Designer (Hybrid)
Location: Pascagoula, Mississippi
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Piping Designer to develop detailed piping drawings in accordance with applicable specifications and work order instructions. This role ensures that design products and engineering deliverables meet engineering standards and customer specifications. Responsibilities include preparing Bills of Material (BOM), consulting with vendors on project-related activities, and coordinating design criteria with various departments, including engineering, manufacturing, tooling, materials, and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed piping drawings based on specifications and work order instructions.
- Ensure that design products and engineering deliverables conform to engineering and customer specifications.
- Prepare Bills of Material (BOM).
- Collaborate with vendors on project-related activities.
- Coordinate design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, materials, and planning teams, considering factors such as manufacturability, material availability, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in piping design. Experience in the shipbuilding industry is a plus.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling software such as Ship Constructor, Nupas Cadmatic, Inventor, and CATIA.
- Strong understanding of piping design principles in the shipbuilding industry.
- Ability to prepare accurate and detailed Bills of Material (BOM).
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Skills:
