Description
Bloomsbury Academic Publishing's Introductory Reference, Bloomsbury Libraries Unlimited, and ABC-Clio database publishing imprints are seeking an editorial intern for Spring 2024. We are a publisher of academic books and databases located in Midtown/Herald Square. We commission in a broad range of subject areas across the humanities and social sciences.
Our intern plays a key part of our day-to-day operations. As a Bloomsbury Academic editorial intern, you will work with the Editorial team on a variety of projects that reflect the diverse aspects of our academic publishing, including:
Working with data systems like Biblio and Salesforce as neededPerform testing on our digital product platformsManage submissions to the Cataloging-in-Publication and Library of Congress programsManage departmental shippingComplete various administrative tasksComplete course, academic, and picture researchAssist with the creation of book resources such as PowerPoints for instructorsOpportunities to take on other editorial projects may also ariseDuration:

Requirements
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual, who ideally has the following skills:
High level of familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and OutlookFirm grasp of grammar and spelling, with a keen eye for detailAbility to work efficiently and independentlyStrong communication skills in a fast-paced professional environment
We require a commitment of 15-20 hours per week for the entire internship term. Scheduling is flexible, but work should occur during standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 5:30 PM EST.
This position pays $18.00/hour, and candidates may wish to arrange for college credit for the placement to supplement.
Location:
Candidates must reside in the NY tri-state area, and be able to work in person 1-2 days per week.
