Job Details:
The ESPN Event - Coordinating Producer II is responsible for the creative development and production of an assigned sports category or several sports. They are accountable for content quality, talent development, budget performance, and market share within their assigned sports categories. They will also oversee studio operations related to their sports categories throughout the year.
This role is primarily assigned to Women’s College Basketball, Women’s Tournament, and Girls Little League, but assignments may change based on business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Lead planning and coordination of the NCAA Women’s Tournament from Selection Show through the Final Four.
- Serve as the main contact for NCAA tournament planning.
- Coordinate the Girls Little League World Series, including Regionals, Ancillaries, and the Little League World Series in Greenville, NC.
- Serve as the primary contact for Little League planning.
- Oversee remote production activities with a team of producers and professionals for assigned sports.
- Collaborate with sport SVP/VP to set content strategy and production philosophy.
- Define talent plans and assignments for all assigned sports.
- Manage Producers, Directors, Associate Producers, Content Associates, and Production Assistants involved in production.
- Assign production personnel to events and determine show levels with the production management team.
- Lead content calls and provide feedback to talent and production staff.
- Develop and grow talent and production personnel within assigned sports.
- Create and enhance concepts and line-ups for assigned sports.
- Support studio shows and oversee graphics and animations for assigned sports.
- Track production schedules and budgets, managing assets flow.
- Participate in advertising, promotions, and sales guidelines development.
- Ensure integration of sports categories within ESPN broadcasts.
- Support departmental and company priorities through leadership.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in creating and producing remote sports productions, capable of executing concepts from start to finish.
- Strong mastery of remote sports production processes and high-level event production skills.
- Up-to-date knowledge of technological advances and ESPN’s production modalities.
- Deep understanding of story ideas and concepts for remote sports productions.
- Experience managing live event productions.
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible sports production experience.
- At least 2 years managing large teams and multiple events simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of ESPN’s market positioning and strategies.
- Knowledge of college sports and their history.
- Extensive knowledge of Women’s College Basketball and Softball production and rules at all levels.
Education:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent (Preferred)
