The Vice President of News Services oversees multiple teams that both gather and produce content to be utilized across all ABC platforms, owned stations and affiliates. This includes leading the strategic business & editorial direction for ABC’s affiliate & client service, Newsone, and ABC Audio, which includes ABC News Radio, ABC News Podcasts, and ABC Audio Entertainment. The Vice President of News Services will be responsible for driving revenue and efficiency in a dynamic media landscape. ABC News is seeking a candidate with exceptional emotional intelligence who understands the critical role of fostering strong, positive relationships in achieving business goals and driving team success. Responsibilities: Leadership Over Multiplatform Editorial and Operational Direction:
Lead the editorial accuracy, strategic direction, and operational execution across all platforms under the News Services umbrella, ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals of ABC News. Oversee content production of Newsone that
supports ABC News Live, OTV, television & clients, and social platforms, with a focus on cross-platform synergy and content integration. Editorial and Operational Oversight of ABC News Audio:
Accountable for the editorial and operational direction of ABC News Radio, ensuring that all aspects of news coverage — from breaking news to regular 24/7 radio programming, feature entertainment, and lifestyle content — are delivered with excellence and accuracy across all audio platforms. Podcast Strategy and Execution:
Oversee the podcast production teams in developing, producing, and monetizing a diverse and growing library of podcasts aimed at making ABC News Podcasts the destination for news & true crime content. Affiliate Sales & Relationship Collaboration:
Work closely with the Platform Distribution Sales team that oversees the business development of ABC Audio as well as the Affiliate Relations & Platform Distribution team who oversees the relationship with ABC Television affiliates. This includes developing & maintaining strategic relationships with clients and external partners. Multiplatform Integration & Strategic Collaboration:
Drive strategic initiatives that foster cross-platform content distribution to extend linear, audio, and digital programming concepts onto streaming, social, VOD and audio platforms to increase audience and monetization. Work with legal and business affairs partners to
negotiate and approve complex digital licenses, union/non-union talent contracts, broadcast/linear affiliate contracts, term sheets, marketing affiliate contracts, and vendor contracts. Collaborate with the senior program executives
across ABC News to grow the reach and commercial potential of our most valuable and trusted brands including Good Morning America, World News Tonight with David Muir, Nightline, and 20/20 among others. Basic Qualifications: Leadership Excellence in Collaboration & Innovation:
Proven ability to lead with emotional intelligence that fosters collaboration, cultivates innovation, and promotes an inclusive culture. Adept at building and maintaining strong relationships across all levels of the organization, ensuring seamless cross-functional teamwork and a unified approach to achieving organizational goals. Extensive Industry Experience:
A minimum of 15 years of experience in journalism, with a strong background in breaking news and business management. Ideally, a deep understanding of the changing media landscape and its evolving dynamics, enabling the cultivation of insightful, strategic decision-making and fostering a forward-thinking approach to leadership. Talent Management & Strategic Leadership:
Extensive experience in managing talent, with a focus on developing and nurturing relationships that drive individual and team success. Expertise in business development, strategy formulation, labor relations negotiations, and guiding cross-platform teams toward shared objectives. Skilled in mentoring and building strong, collaborative teams that thrive in high-pressure environments. Passion for Premium News Delivery Across Platforms:

The hiring range for this position in New York is $309,800 to $415,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
