Under the general direction of the Deputy Director of the Member Offices Division, the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Supervisor II) plans, organizes, coordinates, manages, and directs the activities of the Web Projects and Content Management section. The Web Projects and Content Management section is comprised of a group of multi-disciplinary information technology professionals that work with cross-functional project teams to deliver products and services to the legislature. The team provides web site content management and quality control services for the Senate, Assembly, and Office of Legislative Counsel (OLC), including live/on demand video streaming services, and assists with content updates to ensure ADA compliance of videos and documents. The team receives a high volume of work requests, training requests, and projects that require testing services and upgrades/security patches that also require the testing of hundreds of public and internal websites. The IT Supervisor II oversees the daily operations of the Web Projects and Content Management Section, providing oversight to staff performing first and second level customer support of web sites and web based applications for the Senate, Assembly and Committee and Caucus offices. The IT Supervisor II manages the testing/quality control services instituting process improvements as needed to support the business, manages training team members involved with major web development projects and provides project management services throughout the project lifecycle. The IT Supervisor II also identifies, documents, and monitors defined service levels and performance management standards; manages contracts; evaluates trends; ensures compliance to IT industry and project management standards; develops/plans scope of work; and participates in vendor/product solution evaluation and selection.

Department Information
The Office of Legislative Counsel (OLC) is a small civil service department whose mission is to provide responsive nonpartisan and confidential legal services and information technology support services to the California State Legislature and in support of the legislative process. This position is located in the heart of downtown Sacramento. The State of California provides excellent health benefits and retirement options, sick leave and vacation accrual, and paid state holidays. Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- In-depth knowledge of the legislative business process, including the legislative business cycle and calendar to develop and support IT solutions that meet business needs.
- Five (5) or mo re years' experience in customer relationship management, IT knowledge, and consulting and support of the current technologies and industry trends in order to develop strategies which enhance the customers' business and information technology needs.
- In-depth knowledge of the OLC's mission, vision, values and the purpose goals, and objectives of the Legislative Data Center within the OLC.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive assignments/projects with tact and diplomacy; ability to handle rapidly changing priorities, and to work effectively under pressure and time constraints while maintaining the highest standards of professional, respectful, and ethical conduct.
- Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing with legislative stakeholders, executive management, managers, supervisors, colleagues, team members, contractors, and vendors to include effective presentations.
