Design Draftsmen – 12 Months

Location: North Anna Nuclear Plant – Mineral, VA

Your Day-to-Day:

1. Perform drafting duties including preparation, maintenance, and updating of documentation for an industrial Nuclear Power Station, including Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical circuits and prints, station and standard drawings, maps, charts, and graphic arts.
2. Prepare, maintain, and update P&ID, circuit and one-line diagrams, prints, and charts.
3. Collaborate with other department personnel to obtain and verify information needed to produce detailed drawings from designer and engineer sketches for circuit drawings and one-lines.
4. Create and update drawings manually and using computer-aided drafting systems.
5. Maintain computer-aided drafting system in operational condition.
6. Perform freehand and mechanical pencil and ink lettering for drawings, posters, and prints.
7. Retrieve and issue original drawings from records management and reproduce maps.
8. Draft mechanical, electrical, and civil construction drawings and update controlled drawings from designer and field sketches.
9. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you will bring the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preference for an Associate Degree in Drafting/Design
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel; electrical background preferred. A combination of Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical experience will be considered.
• Hands-on experience using drafting tools in a design draftsman capacity
• Knowledge of drafting and experience interpreting construction estimates and technical documents (drawings and diagrams)
• Solid skills in CADD Microstation/AutoCAD
• Good math skills and ability to perform basic calculations
