Choice Hotels, one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Data Visualization Manager on the Data Visualization team in the Advanced Analytics Department. The Data Visualization team transforms complex data into clear, actionable, and automated visual reports. As a key member of the Advanced Analytics team, this role combines technical expertise in Tableau with a strategic understanding of data to create insightful and impactful dashboards and reports which satisfy organizational needs.

Your Responsibilities
Collaborates with stakeholders to develop interactive data visualizations using Tableau, providing actionable insights.
Utilizes AWS Redshift and advanced SQL techniques to manage and analyze large-scale datasets.
Serves as the primary liaison between data engineering, analytics, and marketing, sales, and product stakeholders.
Translates business requirements into clear specifications, defining and prioritizing the BI/reporting roadmap and data product delivery, and creating content strategies to maintain dashboard relevance.
Drives data product adoption through documentation and training and prepares content for quarterly stakeholder meetings.
Contributes to the Tableau roadmap and vision for next-generation data visualization and analytics solutions by staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in data visualization.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
Related Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and/or 5+ years of equivalent work experience
3-5 years’ related work experience in a reporting, or data visualization role, with data engineering experience a plus
3-5 years’ direct experience with Tableau
3-5 years’ experience in writing SQL queries with Tableau, DBeaver or other query engines tools, with experience with Redshift or other columnar data stores / AWS a plus
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Experience with Jira, Confluence, or other Atlassian products
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite to include Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in prompt engineering for MS Copilot / Google Gemini / Chat GPT
Experience with the hospitality industry and metrics a major plus
Strong Business Acumen; Capable of translating complex data into actionable business strategies that drive growth and efficiency.
Attention to Detail; Ensures data accuracy and integrity in visualizations
Project Management Skills; Manages multiple projects and timelines, driving results independently and in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Problem Solving Skills; Proactively identifies data-related challenges and devises innovative, effective solutions.
Your Team
This is an individual contributor role that will report to the Manager, Data Visualization Product Management. You will be part of the Data Visualization team and collaborate with cross-functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Data Visualization Manager, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in North Bethesda, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we’re located one block away from the North Bethesda Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
