Morristown Beard School seeks a dynamic and dedicated full-time Art and Design teacher for grades 6-12 for the 2025-2026 academic year. The ideal candidate will be a passionate and intellectually curious educator who seeks to thrive in a collaborative environment by actively contributing to our school’s vibrant and supportive community of learners. The candidate should possess exemplary skills in the following areas: sculptural work, metal and glass work, and the core concepts of the 3D-design process. Finally, this individual will establish a respectful, equitable, and inclusive classroom culture aligned with the values of MBS: Personal Responsibility, Awareness of Diverse Perspectives, Engagement, Tenacity, Independence of Mind, Humor and Humility.

The successful candidate will:

• Exhibit expertise across various forms of visual arts
• Differentiate instruction based on feedback, needs, and learning levels
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and willingness to collaborate and communicate readily with colleagues
• Communicate effectively with students and families about student progress
• Identify and support students’ social, emotional, and behavioral learning needs
• Engage actively in school life by participating in clubs, sports, and extracurricular activities

Responsibilities:

• Teach 5 classes
• Act as an advisor
• Support the School’s activities program
• Rotate through supervisory duties, such as detention, dismissal, study hall, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
• Professional alignment with the mission and values of MBS
