Conifer Realty is seeking a self-motivated Community Manager for Cayuga Meadows Apartments in Ithaca, NY, a 68-unit community. You will oversee site team management, ensure timely work order completion, effective apartment turnover, and meet occupancy goals, while managing staff training and performance.
This role ensures a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, contractors, and staff. You will report to the Regional Manager and collaborate with Compliance, Property Management, Finance, HR, and outside agencies to maintain operational standards. This position is ideal for someone with property management experience, strong interpersonal skills, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. Background check and drug screening required.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance with all housing program requirements
- Market and approve rental applications, prepare and sign leases
- Manage occupancy, maintain waitlists, and ensure timely leasing
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate team members
- Oversee move-in and move-out processes, including inspections
- Handle maintenance requests promptly and document all work
- Assist in developing and managing the annual budget
- Collect rents and manage delinquent accounts
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of apartment management experience in affordable housing
- At least 1 year of experience with leased-up properties
- At least 1 year of team supervision experience
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Yardi Voyager or similar software experience preferred
- Strong math and accounting skills, understanding of budgeting
- Some college preferred; certifications like COS, TCS, or fair housing preferred or willing to obtain
- High School diploma or GED required
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and flexibility for occasional travel

The salary range is $53,000 - $57,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This range excludes bonuses and additional compensation.
