The Senate Democratic Caucus, a communications and outreach team for Democrats in the State Senate seeks a hard-working, driven and innovative Web Developer for its Sacramento office to develop fully functional Drupal Websites and Web Applications.
Basic Functions
The Web Developer will be responsible for working with the Caucus team and Senate staff to develop Senate websites and applications from concept to production. The Web Developer will also maintain current websites and design and code responsive emails for Democratic Senators engaged in public outreach, communication and public policy campaigns.
Required Skills
The Web Developer must have experience building responsive websites using Drupal 10, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript/jQuery and PHP, in addition to developing custom web applications and maintaining existing content management systems (CMS). Experience evaluating, creating and coding new functionality will be essential. The Web Developer should also have experience working independently and in a team environment to meet requirements and deadlines, as well as demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
Qualifications include a minimum of at least 3 years experience in full stack web development, with proficient level in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or other related languages. Experience with Linux, Apache, and MySQL is preferred. The ideal candidate will also possess strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, with great attention to detail. Knowledge of Drupal, Wordpress or similar CMS is necessary. Must be comfortable with back-end web development and managing multiple websites.
Bachelor’s degree required. At least three (3) years relevant experience is required. Legislative experience preferred. Please include verification of your degree with your completed application.
LOCATION, SALARY AND FILING DATE:
This position is located in Sacramento, CA.
Final salary will be commensurate with experience and education. Seniority and significant experience is required to reach the higher end of the salary range.
