Overview
We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Designer to join our Brand Creative team. This position reports to the Creative Director of Brand and lives within our Marketing Team. The Senior Designer is responsible for concept, art direction and design for seasonal marketing campaigns and brand initiatives for McGee & Co and Studio McGee. The designer will also play a key part in developing and maintaining a strong visual brand identity across all marketing materials. This role requires a hybrid of strategic thinking, graphic design, and art direction to create engaging visual experiences that position our brand as a leader in the home furnishing space.
Responsibilities:
Design engaging and compelling graphics for print and digital media, such as catalogues, presentations, website graphics, social media posts, paid media, and email.
Refined editorial design approach. Includes an elevated understanding of hierarchy, typography, and image layout.
Develop and maintain a strong visual brand identity across all marketing materials.
Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop creative strategies and compelling campaign concepts.
Explore art direction for seasonal campaigns through comprehensive studio and location shot lists as well as mood boards.
Stay up to date on the latest graphic design trends and software. Stay immersed in the world of design by constantly seeking what is new, and are always in tune with our competitors, technology, fashion, social media, and beyond.
Lead special project taskforces with cross functional partners.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers.
Work independently to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Present design concepts and solutions to team members and stakeholders clearly and concisely.
Skill and Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience as a graphic designer.
Exceptional portfolio highlighting a variety of design projects.
Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, layout, and color theory.
Experience in art direction for commercial and editorial photography.
Proficiency in industry-standard design software, such as Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
The ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
A passion for design and a desire to grow as a design manager.
A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating high-quality work.
Bonus: Experience in the home furnishings or fashion industry
Bonus: Experience with animation and motion graphics.
