Overview Works as a technician in the work center for the Public Address, Audio Visual, Installation Warning System (Giant Voice) Maintenance support for the Maxwell BOS contract. May be assigned trainer role within the scope of authority. Responsibilities Performs daily tasks for Public Address (PA), Audio Visual (AV) and Installation Warning (Giant Voice) systems (IWS) work center. May support the lead of the work center for PA/AV/IWS request, trouble calls and inquiries. Schedules jobs, determines types and sizes of equipment needed per request. Document, track and update local database system for the purpose of workload and metric reporting. Performs PA and video presentation support for official functions, regardless of the time, when properly requested. Provide stand-alone PA equipment for temporary loan to requesting units. Performs customer training on the set-up, use and return of loaner equipment. Performs minor installation, troubleshooting, and repairing of audio and visual systems. Ability to make, modify, redesign audio and video related cables. Performs oversight and maintenance of IWS, to include bi-annual testing and review. Maintains, tracks and orders inventory parts/equipment for the Installation Warning System. May support the lead of the work center for planning, scheduling and reviewing any sub-contractor work, ensuring contractual requirements are fulfilled. Researches technical solutions for Computer Systems Requirement Documents (CSRD). Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Education/Certifications: Associate’s degree in an associated Information Technology discipline preferred; High School diploma required. Licenses or Certifications Required: Valid State driver’s license. Other IT Certifications are highly desired. Experience: Four (4) years’ experience in Public Address, Audio/Video, Installation Warning System operations and maintenance or related field. Skills: Proficient knowledge in audio and video presentation equipment. Proficient knowledge of Installation Warning Systems and/or ATI/IWS software. Comprehensive knowledge in maintenance practices. General PC Skills, to include the ability to enter information via keyboard. Excellent oral and written communication and people skills. Supervisory/Budget Responsibilities: Individual will assist in maintaining and accountability of shop material to include bench stock, office supplies and tools and test equipment. Identify items needed for sustaining daily operations. Identify budgetary items for short and long term needs. Working Environment: The individual must also be willing to perform shift work, stand-by/after hours and weekend work. Working environment will be indoors and outdoors. Weather conditions of cold, hot and wet environments may be present. The individual must also be willing to perform shift work, stand-by/after hours and weekend work.
