Reporting to the SVP, Chief Communications Officer and Corporate Marketing, this role strategizes, develops and drives a range of executive, financial and internal communications advancing Baxter's Mission, priorities and goals. Works directly with the CEO to develop and deliver enterprise and business communications and targeted outreach on the executive's behalf. Leads the Global Functions communications team, and collaborates with colleagues within Global Communications, segments and functions to ensure communications are accurate, comprehensive and fully aligned with broader goals and strategies across the company. Channels include a broad range of internal and external media, including live presentations, emails, social/digital media, videos and traditional correspondence. What you'll be doing
Strategy and Leadership:
Serve as an active member of Global Communications leadership team. Help guide overall strategy on Baxter's communications globally and participate directly on critical high-profile projects. Develop strategy and execute on broad range of CEO, financial and internal communications. CEO Written Communications:
Build compelling, high-impact internal and external written communications reflecting CEO's personal voice and perspective on a wide range of issues involving business performance, workplace culture, corporate citizenship, and a breadth of adjacencies. Work with key Baxter leaders and colleagues across the company to ensure messages are accurate and advancing/amplifying strategic imperatives to our stakeholders. CEO Speaking Engagements, Presentations and Videos:
Help lead and develop CEO presentations and video messages to internal and external stakeholders, leading on all necessary content and coordination. Financial Communications:
Partner with Investor Relations team on an array of financial communications having a direct intersection with Global Communications and the CEO's delivery of critical corporate messages/positioning: Team Management : Lead Global Functions team, including direct reports and multiple indirects to achieve and fully support communications objectives; build strong team culture and support career development efforts. What you'll bring
15+ years of professional experience in communications, preferably in a corporate or PR agency environment, and with expertise in executive speechwriting and financial communications. Experience in medical devices and/or pharmaceuticals industries desired, as is experience at a public company. Bachelor's degree preferred in strategic communications, journalism, English or public relations; Master's degree a plus. Excels at building strong relationships within the organization, with intellectual confidence and ability to earn confidence of and engage/counsel senior executives, including the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team. Exceptional strategic problem solver with ability to develop and drive external and internal communication strategies. Strong business acumen, understanding of businesses and clear comprehension of key corporate financial metrics. Creative storyteller, with ability to translate ideas to slides and other media. Strong and versatile research and writing skills with proven experience in creating clear, concise and persuasive materials under time pressures. Ability to drive clarity out of ambiguous situations. Proven ability to align and integrate positioning and communications efforts across a large, global organization and to position messages proactively and strategically. Strong leadership skills with the capability to envision and implement change. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is$240,000 - $330,000annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
