The School of Communication, Sciences and Disorders invites applications for a 10-month, full-time tenure-track faculty position. This is an appointment in the College of Education. The position is available August 1, 2025 and salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position requires the faculty member to work from the Pacific University Forest Grove campus in Oregon.
Faculty Position Responsibilities
- Curriculum/course development in one or more content areas including speech sound disorders, pediatric/adult motor speech, bilingualism, alternative augmentative communication (AAC) (up to 24 credits annually);
- Scholarship activities in communication, sciences and disorders;
- Student advising and mentoring;
- Service to the profession and at all levels;
- Active participation in school and college retreats;
- Assisting with the coordination of school-related activities with the School director and administrative staff.
Candidates must be committed to the mission, vision, and values of CSD, and supportive of transformational student-centered education and scholarly practice within the broader community, as well as working supportively with faculty and staff in both Colleges of Education and across the University. Candidates will be expected to have expertise in equity, diversity, and accessibility including a commitment to inclusive teaching and anti-racist practices.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD or terminal degree in communication, sciences and disorders.
- Extensive training in speech sound disorders, pediatric/adult motor speech, bilingualism, and/or alternative augmentative communication. (AAC) (other areas of specialty will be considered)
- Excellent communications, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to centering diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility.
- Teaching, research, and service experience at the graduate level.
- Substantial skills and demonstrated innovative use of instructional technology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingualism in Spanish
- Undergraduate teaching experience
