Project Description
EdIncites is currently seeking two (2) individuals, who are highly proficient in high school asynchronous American Sign Language(ASL) course development, to join a team of subject matter and curriculum experts in the creation of high school American Sign Language 1 course. This course will be designed to match our client specifications and will be used in an asynchronous learning environment. This project will begin in mid-July 2024 and run through June 2025.
Project/Freelancer RequirementsEducation: Bachelor's degree in education or directly related fieldExperience: 3+ years of relevant experience with 6-12 curriculum alignment and asynchronous course developmentLicense/Certification: Currently holds an educator's license in 6-12 American Sign Language
Project TasksWrite thoughtful, engaging, and easy-to-understand high school asynchronous ASL 1 lessons that align to content standards and client specificationsWrite the text for student interactives and other multimedia content used in instructional contextsCreate videos/GIFs aligned to content standards and client specificationsCommunicate clearly and effectively with team members about progress, deadlines, challenges, and solutionsRespond constructively and adapt readily to suggestions, client feedback, and editing requirementsFollow plans and specifications for all assigned projects, including meeting deadlines and coordinating with other project workers and adjusting work based on project needs/prioritiesWrite formative and summative assessments and rubrics aligned to lessons and units
Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in education or directly related fieldExperience: 2+ years of relevant experience with 6-12 asynchronous ASL curriculum alignment and course development and 2+ years of 9-12 ASL classroom instructionLicense/Certification: Currently holds an educator's license in 6-12 ASL in any stateStrong writing skills: ability to clearly present ASL content at a high school level in many different forms, including written explanationsExperience across digital curriculum systems, including common learning management systems and interactive toolsSkilled with Google Apps and willing to learn additional technology tools adopted to align to the client specificationsSolid understanding of online learning considerations and educational technologyExcellent listening, observation, reading, verbal, nonverbal, and writing skillsSuperior time-management, organizational skills, and accurate record keepingUphold policies and follow team guidelines and proceduresAbility to work well both independently and as part of a team
