Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Behavioral & Health Sciences (CoBHS), responsible for leading CoBHS marketing/communication initiatives. This includes serving on the college's leadership team, constructing the CoBHS communications plan and marketing budget, supporting student recruitment efforts, managing social media accounts, as well as preparing press releases and promotional materials.
Austin Peay State University is a four-year public, doctoral-level university, with six colleges and four Chairs of Excellence. The University has an enrollment of over 10,000 students and is located in Clarksville, Tennessee, a community of an estimated 180,000 people located approximately 40 miles northwest of Nashville, TN.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develop in consultation with the Dean the College communications plan. Monitor and allocate the college annual marketing budget; Develop and manage social media accounts; Prepare promotional materials in support of the college's advancement, student recruitment, and promotional efforts; Manage public relations efforts; Act as the college liaison to the APSU Office of Public Relations and Marketing; Develop relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external to advance the CoBHS mission and bring attention to the departments and programs within CoBHS. Create and supervise a content team to increase the CoBHS presence in social media; Establish brand "voice" and messaging and ensure consistency across the college. Perform other related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge/Skill Knowledge of effective marketing/public relations strategies Ability to think strategically and make budget allocation decisions in support of strategic goals. Ability to design and prepare effective promotional materials Ability to work closely with others and respond to requests. Ability to post effective content on multiple social media outlets. Physical Requirements
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, or related fields. Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience in marketing/public relations/communications.
