Creative Artist & Game Development Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Artists & Game Development
LOCATION: American Games and International Gamco
SCHEDULE: Primarily Day Shift
What You'll Do
This full-time, permanent position in a manufacturing environment plays a critical role in the production of charitable and lottery gaming products, including pull-tab tickets (break-open tickets) and bingo paper.
This position will be responsible for managing artwork production for lottery pull-tabs and related products, designing custom game support materials, and assisting in the development of new games, ensuring they are compliant with state regulations, manufacturing standards and client specifications. You will work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion while staying updated with industry trends and best practices.
The ideal candidate for this position is a detail-oriented professional with a degree in Graphic Design, Game Development, or a related field and at least 3 years of experience in graphic design or print production. They should be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), with strong skills in image manipulation, color management and typesetting. The candidate must be able to ensure artwork meets state regulations and printing standards while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot issues and stay updated on industry trends. The ideal candidate will be organized, adaptable, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Handle a high volume of artwork production, ensuring deadlines are met efficiently.
- Verify all artwork meets printing standards and adheres to specifications as set forth.
- Develop artwork for state submittals, including ticket fronts, symbols and flares, ensuring they align with state regulations.
- Create custom game support materials, including those for lottery and stock games.
- Create 1-up art for ticket fronts and manage imposed artwork for black plate changes, both for stock and custom games.
- Ensure artwork meets production requirements and is ready for press, following the guidelines in the Game Development books.
- Perform trapping of symbols and ticket artwork, making corrections to trap files when required.
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, customers and other stakeholders.
- Supply proofreaders with all necessary files and materials to check the artwork.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to provide design support and assist in creating new products and concepts to present to customers for sales.
- Clarify the Design Information Form (DIF) or work orders with design coordinators or the Creative Director on art direction or game play.
- Maintain organized file management, ensuring only finalized files are stored on the server.
- Assist in the creation of website materials or game collections as needed.
- Assist in the development and production of new games, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Collaborate with external programmers and internal teams to streamline the game-building process.
- Monitor and update game approval statuses in Symix for each respective state.
- Estimate costs and resource allocation for new game development projects.
- Create and maintain detailed production specifications and working papers to ensure quality control.
- Verify and modify game payout structures as needed.
- Act as a liaison between departments (Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, and Shipping) to provide real-time updates on job statuses and state approvals.
- Ensure compliance with changing state regulations by coordinating with the Quality Control Manager.
- Troubleshoot artwork issues, find solutions, and consult with teams as needed.
- Ensure all files are maintained up to date on the server with only the latest versions available.
- Ensure that artwork is compliant with all printing and quality standards, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
- Provide proofreaders with all necessary files for review.
- Engage in continued education or training to stay up to date with industry trends.
- Stay updated on Pollard Games products and relevant advancements in game development, print production, and design technologies.
- Assist with additional design-related or game development tasks as required by business needs.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Game Development, Project Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design, artwork production, or game development, preferably in a print production or lottery ticket design environment.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) with strong skills in pixel and vector image manipulation, color management, and typesetting.
- Familiarity with game development software, tools, and industry trends.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience in troubleshooting artwork and technical design challenges.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate project files and documentation.
- Knowledge of game development processes, programming and database management.
- Experience with regulatory compliance, specifically related to lottery games and print materials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high-quality standards under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment.

- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (sponsorship is not available).
