Position: Adjunct Instructor (Visual Arts)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate effectively with magnet school leaders to support programming at the building-level
- Support students in one-on-one and small group settings during and after school
- Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible for
QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S.
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Experience and proficiency subject area required.
- Bachelor degree in subject area preferred.
- Demonstrable successful interactions with students and colleagues
- Have ability to work collaboratively in a team situation
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of a wide range of instructional and intervention strategies
- Ability to problem solve and think critically.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear.
- Frequent requirement to sit, stand, walk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, crouch, kneel, stoop, and climb stairs.
- Travels to multiple schools as needed
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is performed in classroom setting
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue
- Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions
- Occasional interactions with unruly people
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull various items up to a maximum of 40 pounds (100 pounds on wheels).
