About the Holly Springs Salamanders
The Holly Springs Salamanders are a member of the Coastal Plain League. The CPL is a 15 team Collegiate Summer Baseball League ranging from Virginia to Georgia.
About The Trainee Program
The Holly Springs Salamanders are looking for motivated and dedicated trainees looking to begin or continue their careers in the sports industry. The trainee program is open to college students and recent college graduates. Trainee’s will be required to work all home games and some non-game day events and office requirements. This program is designed to showcase behind-the-scenes of working for a sports organization.

- Provide the FUN & ENERGY in the ballpark.
- Coordinate and execute any stadium/concourse activations for theme nights; help get vendors into the ballpark, set-up, and tear-down.
- Execute pregame ceremonies and in-game activations.
- Be the main point of contact for booking mascot appearances.
- Collaborate with staff to come up with new ideas for in-game features and skits.
- Assist with execution of community appearances.
- Plan and execute grassroot marketing campaigns.
- Assist in managing and updating the team's social media accounts (Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.).
- Create and schedule engaging content, including game updates, behind-the-scenes footage, promotions, and community initiatives.
- Monitor social media trends and provide recommendations for optimization.
- Attend community events to promote the team and capture content.
- Utilize analytics tools to track social media performance and user engagement.
- Provide regular reports on key performance indicators and offer insights for improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Education and Background:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in marketing, social media, and promotions within the sports industry.
Marketing and Social Media Skills:
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) and their respective best practices.
- Basic graphic design and content creation skills, including proficiency in Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools.
- Strong writing and editing skills for creating engaging social media posts and promotional content.
Event and Promotion Management:
- Ability to assist in planning and executing in-game promotions, special events, and fan engagement activities.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, often during live events.
Technical and Analytical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and the ability to track and report engagement metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or similar tools.
Soft Skills:
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with teams, sponsors, and fans.
- Creative mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas for marketing campaigns and social media content.
Availability and Commitment:
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the baseball season.
- Commitment to attending all home games and promotional events as part of job responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in marketing, social media, promotions, or event management (internships or part-time roles are acceptable).
- Familiarity with video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro.
- Passion for baseball or sports entertainment and an understanding of fan engagement strategies.

- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the stadium or event space for extended periods.
- Frequent movement, including bending, reaching, and climbing stairs, during promotions and in-game activities.

- Must be able to lift and carry promotional materials, signage, or equipment weighing up to 20–30 pounds.
Visual and Auditory Requirements:
- Strong visual acuity to design, review, and post social media content and promotional materials.
- Ability to hear and respond to instructions or game-day audio cues in a noisy stadium environment.
Work Conditions:
- Willingness to work outdoors during games and events, including in varying weather conditions such as heat, rain, or cold.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
