Our client is currently seeking a Mechanical Designer
This position is fully onsite in Palo Alto, CA and is a 3 month contract with potential extensions. MUST BE LOCAL AND OK WITH A 3 MONTH CONTRACT
Job Description :
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer for a short-term contract position. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SolidWorks, capable of designing mechanical parts and assemblies, ordering parts, and assisting with assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly translate design concepts into functional components. Key Responsibilities : Design mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks. Generate detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications. Select and order appropriate materials and components. Collaborate with engineers and vendors to ensure design feasibility. Assist with prototype assembly and testing. Troubleshoot and revise designs based on testing and feedback. Qualifications : Proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and 2D drafting. Experience in mechanical design, fabrication, and assembly. Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and tolerances. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Experience with ordering parts and working with suppliers. Hands-on mechanical assembly experience is a plus. Preferred Qualifications : Familiarity with SAP PLM system. Experience with AUTOCAD. Self-starter with a good work ethic. Experience in internal R&D for structural parts. Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis). 10 years of experience in the field. Additional Requirements : Must have SolidWorks.
