Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Content Marketing Specialist at UL Research Institutes, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office. This is a hybrid role, two days a week in office.
The Content Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting the creation and deployment of content for marketing campaigns—ensuring the delivery of engaging, high-quality content that drives audience engagement and lead generation. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and project management skills to produce and deploy impactful, high-quality content aligned with organizational goals. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Content Marketing Specialist ensures consistency in messaging and enhances the organization’s digital presence through innovative and data-driven content strategies.
What you’ll learn and achieve:
- Create compelling content across multiple platforms and types, including blogs, emails, videos, infographics, and web pages, tailored for various audiences and personas.
- Support and execute upon content marketing strategies that align with business objectives and audience needs.
- Ensure all content is optimized for different channels (e.g., SEO for blogs, CTA best practices for emails) and meets performance goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across research institutes and offices to align on content objectives and share marketing campaign deployment plans and results.
- Partner with digital, design, and social media teams to ensure content is visually engaging, optimized for SEO, and deployed across appropriate channels.
- Track content performance metrics (e.g., engagement rates, open rates, downloads) to measure success and inform future content creation.
- Leverage data-driven insights to optimize content, adjusting messaging, format, or structure to improve performance.
- Assist in delivering against the organization’s content calendar to ensure timely and consistent delivery of high-quality materials.
- Translate complex or technical concepts into compelling stories for non-technical audiences.
- Stay updated on content marketing trends and emerging tools to ensure strategies remain fresh, relevant, and innovative.
- Perform other duties as directed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in content marketing, digital marketing, or a similar role.
- Experience with non-profit or purpose-driven marketing is a plus.
- Knowledge of video production, multimedia content creation, and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.
- Experience with selecting and managing visuals to enhance messaging.
Salary Range: $61,199.38-$84,149.14
