Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced BackEnd Web Developer for a Federal client maintaining and evolving National Library Service (NLS) Braille Audio Reading 2.0 cloud-hosted application, supporting 1,000,000 registered total users, 25K concurrent streaming devices, with an uptime SLA of 99.9%.
- Responsible for software engineering tasks as outlined by sprint plan and for overseeing the continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) of a working product with development, engineering, architecture, testing and other Client teams.
- Help Program Manager ensure the development teams are always properly staffed with necessary skills, experience, and knowledge to meet contract requirements.
- Help ensure that all non-public Library information processed under this contract shall be protected from unauthorized use and mishandling by the Contractor.
Requirements
- 4+ Years Experience in BackEnd Web Developer role(s)
- Ability to pass NBIS background check as member of Trusted Workforce 2.0
- Ability to travel as needed within NCR
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Familiarity with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) pursuant to NIST SP 800-53 (rev 4).
- Familiarity with GitHub for publishing and managing organization guidelines.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with following Languages: Python, Perl, Bash, Ruby, Node.js
- Database Skills: Solr, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server
- Programming Proficiency in: Java, Perl, Python, JavaScript
- Experience with Cloud Platforms: Google, GPC, AWS, and Azure
- CI/CD Pipelines: GitLab, Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and other automation tools
- Experience and familiarity with NLS (National Library Service) for the Blind and Print Disabled and the NLS Braille Audio Reading (BARD) 2.0 cloud-hosted application
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), serverless, Software as a Service (SaaS) applications/technologies.
- Experience with Agile, SCRUM and other SDLC methodologies such as Kanban
- Experience using Confluence document and artifact repository
- Experience leading web development tasks within Agile methodology/executing sprints
Education: Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in a related discipline preferred.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
*This position is contingent on contract award to Gunnison Consulting Group.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
