Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Social Content Creation
- Assist in creating and publishing engaging social media content through Sprout Social or directly on social platforms. This includes selecting appropriate photos graphics and videos and crafting compelling and concise captions.
- Collaborate with team members to brainstorm content ideas that align with organizational goals and social media strategies.
- Ensure all content is reviewed and approved to maintain consistency in grammar tone style and professionalism.
- Support the creation of real-time social content during events including reels social videos and stories. This may require occasional in-person attendance
- depending on the event's location and the intern's availability.
- Follow social media outlines and plans to produce content that resonates with target audiences.
- Submit all content for review and approval to ensure alignment with organizational standards.
- Use Canva to design creative graphics and compile videos for social media campaigns.
- Develop visually appealing content that aligns with the brand's style and messaging.
- Submit all designs for feedback and approval to ensure quality and professionalism.
- Monitor and respond to incoming messages across social platforms in a timely and professional manner.
- Escalate inquiries or messages requiring additional information or input to the appropriate team members.
- Sprout Social Smart Inbox Maintenance:
- Use Sprout Social to tag posts by content category for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Engage with followers by retweeting reposting commenting liking and sharing content relevant to the organization's mission.
- Native Mentions Maintenance:
- Track and monitor mentions of the organization on social platforms.
- Engage with users through comments likes and other interactions
- occasionally researching context to provide meaningful responses.
Additional Skills and Requirements:
- Strong writing and editing skills with an understanding of professional and engaging social media copy.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram Facebook Twitter LinkedIn etc.) and tools like Sprout Social and Canva.
- Creativity attention to detail and a passion for social media trends and best practices.
- Availability to attend local events when necessary with support and guidance from the social media team.
- Open to learning and receiving constructive feedback to enhance skills and performance.
- This internship requires an average of 15 hours per week offering flexibility to accommodate academic schedules or other commitments.
- HS Diploma required; some college coursework preferred; experience in professional social media content creation highly preferred
- Must have Canva software (minimum of 1 year) and some video editing software (such as Cap Cut)
