Overview
The Saucon Valley School District seeks a Communication Specialist to lead, develop and execute Saucon Valley School District's comprehensive communications and engagement strategies. The candidate will oversee internal and external communications that includes media relations and brand management to ensure consistent messaging and a strong organizational presence.

- Write and disseminate information via digital channels, including but not limited to social media, email, e-newsletters, digital graphics, and mobile apps.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy to increase engagement and tell the Saucon Valley School District story.
- Create, schedule, and manage content across social media platforms, ensuring all posts align with SVSD branding and messaging.
- Track and report statistics to evaluate the effectiveness of digital communications strategies.
- Support communications needed by departments and schools, for dissemination to staff and families.
- Recommend innovative avenues of communication for external and internal audiences.
- Solicit feedback from stakeholders through formal and informal means on communications and the school division in general.
- Regularly visit schools on a weekly basis to capture photos and videos showcasing educational activities, events and accomplishments.
- Assist with emergency/crisis communications as needed; this includes being on-call for specific evenings and weekends for dissemination of emergency communications.
- May perform other additional duties or tasks as designated by the supervisor.
- Some occasional evening and weekend work required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field
- Two to three years progressive work experience in athletics communications, media relations or a related field
- Strong computer knowledge and experience working with technology applications utilized in digital communication
- Experience utilizing and maintaining websites and social media platforms
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with effective organization and time management skills
