The Durham Bulls are seeking dedicated individuals to serve as Scoreboard Operators for the Manual Scoreboard located on the iconic Blue Monster at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. This role is vital to enhancing the game-day experience by providing accurate, real-time updates for fans.

- Operate the Manual Scoreboard: Display accurate game information, including scores, innings, outs, hits, and other key details.
- Track Gameplay in Real-Time: Stay fully engaged and attentive to the action on the field to ensure timely updates.
- Maintain Scoreboard Accuracy: Quickly adjust scoreboard details in response to game developments such as runs, strikes, and substitutions.
- Collaborate with Game Staff: Communicate with game officials, announcers, and other staff to ensure synchronization with electronic systems.
- Preserve Equipment: Handle scoreboard components with care, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before and during games.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Baseball Knowledge: Strong understanding of the rules, terminology, and flow of baseball games.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to focus and track game events accurately and efficiently.
- Physical Requirements: Comfort with working in a confined space on the Blue Monster and climbing ladders or stairs as needed.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during the baseball season.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role or familiarity with scoreboard operation.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

- Mobility and Access
Climbing: Ability to climb ladders or stairs to access the scoreboard area on the Blue Monster.
Walking: Frequent movement around the scoreboard area during games.
Standing and Sitting: Extended periods of standing or sitting, depending on the setup of the workspace. - Manual Dexterity
Hand-Eye Coordination: Precise movements to change scoreboard panels and operate manual mechanisms.
Handling Panels: Lifting and placing scoreboard numbers or letters quickly and accurately. - Strength and Stamina
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and handle scoreboard tiles or components, which may weigh up to 20 pounds.
Endurance: Remaining focused and engaged for the duration of the game, typically 2.5 to 4 hours. - Environmental Conditions
Outdoor Exposure: Work is performed outdoors and involves exposure to various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or wind.
Confined Spaces: Working within the limited area of the scoreboard space on the Blue Monster. - Cognitive and Visual Requirements
Concentration: High level of attention to accurately track and update game events in real-time.
Vision: Sharp eyesight to monitor gameplay and locate details on the field, even at a distance.
