$40-50/hr W2 Job Description: We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, such as how-to guides, manuals, and instructions. An understanding of the client industry and market, including commercial and industrial hazardous materials, is highly desirable. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Collaborate with SMEs to capture current workflows and optimize procedures. Create, update, and standardize process and procedure documents, including Oracle HCM. Ensure technical verbiage is easy to understand for a broad audience. Gather information from libraries, the web, and other sources. Write clear and concise policies and procedures. Create tables of contents and cite sources. Submit documents for feedback, revise as needed, and proofread for accuracy. Follow document development life cycle and release documents upon final approval. Provide updates and editions as necessary. Must-Haves Education: Bachelor's degree in professional writing, English, journalism, marketing, communications, or related field; or 4-6 years of experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or a related field in lieu of a degree. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in technical writing or 4-6 years of relevant work experience. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Desktop Publishing). Advanced knowledge of Oracle HCM processes. Ability to work with large mathematical formulas in Excel or other systems. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently. Nice-to-Haves Experience: 2-4 years of related experience. Knowledge of the solid waste industry and commercial/industrial hazardous materials. Familiarity with document development life cycle processes.
