Candidates should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Interior Design program (undergraduates should have completed their second year, graduates their first year) or be a recent graduate of an Interior Design program. Required computer skills include Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Twinmotion, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus. Highly motivated self-starter, with an attention to detail and eager to participate in all aspects of the design process. Enthusiasm for working on multi-disciplinary teams and 'can do' attitude Should have a strong interest in interior design We are seeking an industrious, conscientious and driven Interior Design/Architecture Intern to join our Interiors team for 2025. As an Airstream Intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our design and fabrication team members in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.
As an intern at Airstream, you will be exposed to projects at multiple scales across building types. In addition to being involved in exciting active and ongoing work, interns will collaborate with each other, and other team members on a unique summer-long project to design and build a project of their choosing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:?
Work closely with a team of designers to assist in preparing for presentations and construction documentation Participate in design team meetings and presentations, offering fresh perspectives and creative ideas Work closely with material and furniture representatives to order and procure samples and pricing for interior design and furniture packages Maintain, organize, and assemble samples in the materials library regularly Utilize hand renderings and drawing techniques to communicate design concepts Assist in updating documentation and drawings within the PD&E standards under the specific ECO (engineering change order) or PCR (product change request) for the project POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
A positive attitude with a curiosity and passion for design Experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams Strong conceptual, graphic, and organizational skills Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other members of the Hufft team and with product representatives and manufacturers Basic understanding of furniture, interior finishes, and ordering The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to incorporate fabrication in the design process and thrive in our collaborative, cross-disciplinary practice
