Description
The Marketing and Communication Coordinator is responsible for the execution of the Louisiana SPCA's media strategy to meet the organization's goals of increasing awareness of programs and services. The MARCOM Coordinator plays a crucial role in reaching our diverse audiences through various tactics in campaigns by conducting market research and maintaining healthy relationships with supporters that amplify our reach. The MARCOM Coordinator is also responsible for engaging with supporters online through social media channels to understand customer and supporter needs.
The MARCOM Coordinator reports into the Marketing and Communications Manager and collaborates with team members in the organization to deliver messaging to the intended audiences to spark engagement.
Requirements
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will:
Demonstrating compassionate towards both people and pets, the MARCOM Coordinator:Identify each stakeholder's needs to conduct thorough market research to understand our customers, brand perception, collaborators, and industry context to elevate LASPCA's mission and work.
As an adaptable individual, the MARCOM Coordinator:Regularly recruits local and national influencers, businesses, and media to elevate story telling
As a creative problem solver, the MARCOM Coordinator:Develops and maintains strong relationships with news outlets, journalists, and key influencers.Coordinates and manages media inquiries and interview requests.Crafts targeted media pitches and writes compelling press releases.Secure placements in relevant publications and online platforms that promote the organization's programs, services and adoptable animals.
Demonstrating humble confidence, the MARCOM Coordinator:Aids, supports and trains internal staff and volunteers on communication strategy with external audiences, including media appearances, to effectively and efficiently deliver consistent messaging.Manages the email marketing platform, including leveraging functionality to optimize engagement and metrics, ensuring organization of lists and link tracking/attribution/tagging standards across teams and flow into Google Analytics.
Demonstrating emotional intelligence, the MARCOM Coordinator:Continually assesses, responds and manages digital interactions and engagement to increase brand awareness to provide information to community members.
Focusing on equity and accessibility for our diverse audiences, the MARCOM Coordinator:Researches and defines different segments using data-driven analysis to nurture sequences and flows for different customer journeys.Proactively plans recurring media segments with topics and spokespeople reflective of the diversity within our organization and community.
Education/Skill Requirements:BA/BS Degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skillsTeam player able to assist where and when neededCoordinating event experience, a plusSelf-motivated with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed goals on time. Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment; strong collaboration skills are essentialKnowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft OfficeDetail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Pay rate range: $16.50 - $18/hour depending in experience.
