Job Title: Clinical Manager
Report to: Dir. of Client & Family Services (DCAFS)
The Clinical Manager is a passionate believer in A Place To Be’s mission of using music therapy, performance and the expressive arts to create community, belonging and hope. They are an empathetic leader demonstrating creativity and flexibility with strong reflective, management and organizational skills. Responsibilities include some clinical practice, supervising music therapists, overseeing the music therapy intern program, conducting assessments, and supporting wrap-around care in alignment with the mission and vision of A Place To Be. Success is reflected in the quality and timeliness of communication and attention to detail of all job related responsibilities, along with consistent demonstration of being a positive, healthy, collaborative team member.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties
- Clinical Presence – Maintain a small caseload of individuals and/or groups (actual # TBD, approx. 8-10/week) and substitute for other therapists as needed when appropriate.
- Clinical Oversight –
- Support achievement of therapeutic goals and objectives for clients through ongoing group and individual supervision.
- Ensure therapist management of client outcomes and tracking in EHR database.
- Report clinical outcomes and other relevant data as requested for grant reporting.
- Ensure highest quality and best practices in delivery of all clinical services.
- Support client transitions, assessments, progress reports and evaluations.
- Oversee the Intern Coordinator and work together to:
- Ensure successful delivery of APTB’s Internship Program including clinical oversight, quality training of interns, compliance with university requirements, risk mitigation, supervision, and MT education.
- Ensure the placements of practicum students and compliance with university requirements & delivery of program.
- Other Duties as Assigned/Needed:
- Support APTB facility needs as an opener, closer, or as requested at the front desk.
- Support at events when requested.

Schedule
APTB work hours fall generally between 10:00am to 7:30pm Monday through Saturday located primarily in Leesburg, Virginia with possible hours in Middleburg, Virginia or at contract sites in surrounding areas. Some nights or weekends may be included for community events with advanced notice. It is preferred for this position to initially be Tues.-Sat. and then switch Mon.-Fri. if candidate desires, but this is open to discussion with candidate.
Requirements
- MT-BC in good standing.
- A master’s degree or Ph.D. in music therapy.
- Minimum 3 years of direct clinical music therapy experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management position.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge and practice of HIPAA compliance.
- Demonstrate a commitment to top quality in all work produced.
- Reliable personal transportation.
- Must pass a criminal background check, CPS, SOR and DMV and be able to lift 40lbs (basic equipment) and have mobility to serve clients in multiple ways (crouching, floor-time, etc.).
