Program Overview
The Maritime Systems Division is seeking a skilled CAD Design Specialist to join our team. The division is focused on developing advanced technological solutions to meet critical maritime missions for various customers, including the Department of Defense (DoD) and the Intelligence Community, among others.
This role involves supporting the design, development, installation, and maintenance of various systems for sub-surface, surface, and land-based operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify detailed part, assembly, and installation engineering drawings using advanced 2D and 3D CAD software for mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, and structural systems.
- Contribute to the design, development, installation, and upkeep of sub-surface, surface, and ground systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, integrating design inputs from various engineering disciplines.
- Execute tasks semi-independently with technical guidance, ensuring timely completion.
- Perform and validate data migrations into Windchill PLM and serve as the primary contact for Windchill PLM-related inquiries.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in drafting, computer-aided design, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a related field.
- Proficiency with the SolidWorks software suite.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and capable of obtaining a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- Familiarity with reading schematics and engineering drawings.
- Self-motivated and able to adapt quickly between tasks.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and customers.
- Professional demeanor in interactions with peers and supervisors.
- Able to perform physical activities, including moving in an office and lab environment, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in drafting, computer-aided design, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
- Experience with unmanned vehicles, underwater cables/connectors, acoustic sensors, and launch and recovery systems.
- Background working on at-sea vessels for extended periods (1 week or longer).
- Experience designing specifically for a maritime environment.
- Knowledge of ISO manufacturing standards.
- Familiarity with sheet metal and welding design.
- Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD software.
- Familiarity with Windchill PLM.
- Possession of an active security clearance.
- General construction experience is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 2-5 times a year for projects or training.
Job Location: Long Beach, MS
Pay Range: $39,650.00 - $71,675.00
The pay range for this position is a general guideline and not a guaranteed salary. Considerations for the offer will include the responsibilities of the job, education level, relevant experience, and other factors.
