IJW Whiskey Company, LLC (IJW) is a dynamic, fully integrated spirits company. Founded in 2017, we’ve compiled the largest independent library of aged Kentucky bourbon and rye and established a global presence including offices in Beverly Hills, Louisville and Tokyo, Japan, a 40-acre campus in Danville and a bottling facility in Harrodsburg. Our ambitious growth trajectory includes the recent groundbreaking of a new whiskey distillery in Shelbyville, KY, slated for completion in early 2025, and plans for a Japanese distillery in Chitose set to commence in 2024.
With over 100 years of combined industry expertise, our diverse team of seasoned professionals and dynamic newcomers has propelled IJW to the forefront of the spirits industry. Our strategic partnership with one of the nation's largest independent Wine & Spirits distributors has enabled us to offer 22 products across four unique private label bourbon brands in 28 states. We have added to our spirits portfolio with our first Tequila brand launch in Q3 of 2024.
Position Overview:
We’re looking for a talented Packaging Designer who will join our team and be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing packaging solutions that align with brand guidelines, consumer expectations, and industry trends. The ideal candidate will have a strong creative vision, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to balance aesthetics with functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute innovative packaging designs that align with brand identity and market trends.
- Create designs to support marketing & sales efforts that align with company branding strategies.
- Develop and maintain the visual identity of a brand, including logos, typography, color palettes, and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, product development, and production to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare detailed design files, including dielines, mockups, and prototypes for production.
- Research and stay up to date on industry trends, materials, sustainability practices, and printing techniques.
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality control in the final product.
- Maintain brand consistency across all packaging designs and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Present design concepts and iterate based on feedback from stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in package design in CPG industry, preferably in spirits.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D rendering software (Dimension, Cinema 4D, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and innovative packaging designs.
- Understanding of print production, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
