UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI The University of Miami has entered a long-term partnership with Legends to oversee athletics ticket sales, customer service, annual fund solicitation/engagement, ticket operations, digital marketing, content, and corporate partnerships. In addition, Legends will represent the University in developing campus-wide strategic partnerships. As the exclusive partner for Miami Athletics, Legends will engage Hurricanes fans and donors, local and regional South Florida businesses, and national brands with unique and integrated sponsorship, ticketing, and hospitality options. THE ROLE Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer and working with University of Miami athletics department leadership, coaches, student-athletes, and partners, the Assistant Vice President, Marketing will set a vision and lead transformational change for an exciting brand with significant growth potential in the industry. This individual will be a digital-minded storyteller that builds engagement and community across varying verticals including donors, season ticket holders, retail customers, and social/digital followers. ESSENTIAL DUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversight of video content and digital strategy teams. Develop, implement, and maintain the long-term digital roadmap strategy and drive innovation across multiple digital verticals. Responsible for constructing, implementing, and executing strategic content campaigns designed to drive revenue centered on the sale of tickets, donations, sponsorship activations, retail, VIP experiences, and premium hospitality packages. Project lead for high-visibility digital marketing channels including Miami Hurricanes social media accounts, Miami Hurricanes mobile app, MiamiHurricanes.com, and other relevant platforms. Collaborate with ticket sales, customer service, ticket operations, marketing, annual fund, development, retail, and corporate partnerships to achieve business objectives and maximize revenue growth and retention. Lead Digital team to strategize, maintain, and execute a 30-60-90-day communications timeline using diverse communications channels. Track new emerging industry trends and maintain an in-depth understanding of digital marketing channels, platforms, and mobile technologies. Develop growth strategies for department database and social media channels as well as overall brand reach. Leverage consumer/fan data, metrics, and insights from Business Analytics, Consumer Marketing teams, and other sources to help guide and develop campaign strategies, products, and messaging. Assist the Consumer Marketing team in creating visually appealing and engaging communications. Collaborate with the partnership team to maximize partner activations through compelling digital activations. Manage any third-party software, creative or advertising relationships. Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive paid media strategies to convert social audiences to directly purchase and/or to drive new leads through appropriate channels including but not limited to Facebook, X, Instagram, and other digital channels. Analyze social media marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic, etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies. Suggest and implement new promotions, ads, competitions, etc. to develop brand awareness, grow the audience, and increase engagement. Direct and optimize paid, in-kind, and traditional media assets. Analyze campaigns to determine and evaluate key measurables including Cost Associated per Lead, Online Marketing ROI (return on investment), Customer Conversion Rates, ROAS (return on ad spend), and other KPIs (key performance indicators). Manage assigned budgets for equipment, software, contractors, and other resources. Work evenings, weekends, and travel as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Minimum five years of increasing digital media, marketing, or related experience within an agency or sports-related organization. Minimum three years of experience managing creative, marketing, and/or digital teams. Working knowledge of content production and marketing tools. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to build consensus and lead internal communication. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate across departments. Strong project management skills and the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting established timelines. Detail-oriented and highly organized with an ability to strive under pressure while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
