- Work closely with directors, producers, and creative teams to understand project goals and visual styles.
- Review scripts, storyboards, and raw footage to align edits with narrative intent.
- Assemble and refine footage to create seamless, engaging visual content.
- Edit a variety of projects, including films, television, trailers, promotional materials, and sizzle reels.
- Cut footage, add transitions, special effects, and visual enhancements.
- Input and synchronize music, sound effects, and dialogue for a polished final product.
- Perform color correction, audio leveling, and other post-production enhancements as needed.
- Ensure all final videos meet technical and creative standards before delivery.
- Organize and manage video assets, footage libraries, and project files for easy access.
- Assist with scheduling post production meetings, tracking deadlines, and maintaining production calendars.
- Communicate with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure production logistics.
- Maintain records of edits, project versions, and production timelines.
- Handle paperwork, contracts, invoices, and other administrative tasks related to post-production.
- Assist in sourcing stock footage, music, or external assets when needed.
- Support marketing efforts by creating promotional clips and behind-the-scenes content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Media Production, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Video Editor in film, television, or digital media.
- Strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing editing skills.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including:
- DaVinci Resolve
- Avid (a plus)
- After Effects (for basic motion graphics)
- Photoshop (for minor asset creation)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Understanding of video formats, codecs, frame rates, and export settings for various platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Creative storytelling abilities with an eye for pacing, composition, and visual flow.
- Basic understanding of clerical and administrative support in a production setting.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Experience in motion graphics, VFX, or 3D animation is a plus.
- Familiarity with social media video formats and digital marketing trends.
- Experience working in a production company, TV network, or film studio.
