Musical Bridges, established in 2005, is the leading music therapy provider in Middle Tennessee. We're expanding our clinical team to develop innovative community programs and partnerships with local nonprofits, while maintaining our dedication to quality music therapy services.
Position Overview:
We're seeking a passionate Neurologic Music Therapist to help expand our community presence through group programs and partnerships. This role combines clinical work with community program development, serving children and adults through both clinic-based and community-based services with partner agencies such as schools, adult day programs, kids gyms, and more. Ideal candidates will have experience working with the following: autistic children and adults, ADHD, communication disorders, sensory processing needs, mental health needs, diverse behavioral needs, and developmental disabilities starting at age 2+.

We are one of the original private practices in Nashville, but have new, exciting programs we'd like to launch this year with some additional help. This position is great for you if you seek advancement opportunities and like to create unique programs and classes. We are specifically seeking a candidate who is looking to grow as a clinic director and/or internship director within a couple of years.

Responsibilities:
- Work with other staff members to achieve our mission to provide high-quality, innovative music therapy services to children and adults in the Greater Nashville area
- Plan and conduct weekly NMT treatment
- Lead adapted music lessons on piano, guitar, and voice
- Write thorough and detailed session notes and keep accurate data
- Articulate progress to family members, staff, and treatment team members
- Develop resources for families to utilize at home
- Collaborate with additional treatment providers, partner agencies, and other Musical Bridges staff members
- Participate in team meeting, supervision, and trainings
- Travel to community sessions when required
- Attend Musical Bridges recitals (2x/year), resource fairs, in-services, and other marketing efforts
- Attend professional development opportunities to maintain credential and advance clinical skills
- Clean/sanitize instruments and/or equipment with appropriate materials
Qualifications:
- Board-certified Music Therapist, 1+ year experience preferred
- Neurologic Music Therapist preferred, or willing to take training within 3 months
- Detail oriented
- Enthusiasm, ENERGY, and passion while leading
- Background working children with special needs, including autism
- Outstanding time management
- Professional
- Caring and warm personality
- Creative with making visual supports and materials
- Experience with diverse communication styles (AAC, PECS, Gestalt Language Processors, etc)
- Experience teaching basic music lessons
- Experience using Google docs & Google spreadsheets or willingness to learn
- Skilled writer
