Role Overview: Hearst Newspapers is seeking a passionate and dynamic Advertising Director to lead our sales teams at Hearst Connecticut Media Group both inside and outside the office. This pivotal role involves managing diverse sales channels, premise sales, and remote sales, to meet and surpass our revenue goals. The ideal candidate will bring innovative strategies and a proactive approach to our advertising sales department, ensuring both immediate wins and long-term growth. You will work closely with senior management at Hearst Connecticut Media Group to secure and nurture high-value customer relationships, ensuring immediate wins and long-term growth. This role will be located in our Meriden, CT office.

What will you do?

- Community Engagement: Act as a key community liaison and maintain strong relationships with key clients.

- Education: BA/BS degree in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications a plus or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of business-to-business outside sales in advertising or media, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, capable of effectively managing a team and influencing sales growth.
- Mindset: Highly motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal skills, with a natural ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Skills: Superior presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills. Technically savvy with experience in Salesforce, Excel, and PowerPoint.
