This position is responsible for providing technical assistance for communications activities including planning, testing, installing and maintaining large communications networks.
Responsibilities
Ensuring adequate and appropriate planning is provided to direct building architects and planners in building communications spaces and media pathways that meet industry standards.Develop, install, operate, and maintains voice, wireless, video, and data communications systems.Perform maintenance on outdoor plant communication equipment and cabling systems for voice, data, and video imaging.Installing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing the cable and fiber network.All other duties as assigned.Required
The right candidate will have to be flexible, each day can be different when it comes to work assigned and can be in a different location.8+ years of related experience in: fiber optic, data center, cabling, ethernet, core, optical network, racking, stacking, DC power, configuration, DWDM, Ciena, Core Networking, optical packets, and fiber testing.Capable of reading and interpreting engineering work orders.Must be capable of climbing ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.Must be flexible in supporting contract-specific requirements to work evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined.This position does require you to have or achieve STI Firestop FIT Level 1 training, Aseptic Technique training, Bloodborne Pathogens training, and HIPPA training certifications.Must be able to pass criminal background check prior to employment.May supervise and or/oversee other personnel and projects.Desired
Associates degree or higher in Telecommunications or related field.BICSI Installer 1 (INST1) certification.Experience installing, splicing, and terminating specifically Duraline fiber optic cable.Former military member from a cable or maintenance career field.About Red Cedar TG
