Responsibilities
The Corporate Vice President of Communications and Public Relations is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies for Prime Healthcare. This role involves extensive writing, editing, planning, and leadership to serve as a primary spokesperson and to manage various communication functions including media relations, investor communications, government relations support, and community engagement. The leader oversees a team responsible for internal communications, executive messaging, PR, media relations, crisis communication, website and digital marketing, and social media strategy. Collaboration with hospital leadership across the system is essential, with hospital communications teams reporting indirectly to this role.
Qualifications
Required qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
10+ years of successful communications experience in healthcare delivery, including leadership at the executive level.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, board members, physicians, officials, and community stakeholders.
Excellent writing skills tailored to diverse audiences.
Relationship-building experience with local and national media, including outlets like Becker’s Healthcare and Modern Healthcare.
Track record of leading corporate and regional communications, crisis management, and media relations.
Strong organizational, communication, planning, and leadership skills; diplomatic and relationship-oriented.
Excellent coaching and mentoring abilities.
Preferred qualifications :
Experience in large, complex, national health systems.
Experience with investor relations.
Knowledge of government relations and working with officials and stakeholders.
Connections with national news media in key markets (LA, NYC, Midwest).
Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or Journalism.
Prime Healthcare offers competitive compensation and benefits, including paid time off, 401K, medical / dental / vision coverage, tuition reimbursement, and voluntary benefits. The estimated total compensation range is $214,240 to $300,000 annually, depending on various factors. Employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses based on performance.
