East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is a career technical school that provides high school and adult students with advanced skills and training needed to thrive in today's competitive job market. EVIT offers 50 career technical education programs, as well as Associate degrees in Nursing and Surgical Technology. EVIT prepares students for state and national licensing, industry certifications, internships, and the opportunity to earn college credit. EVIT programs are tuition-free for high school students who live within the following school districts: Apache Junction, Cave Creek, Chandler, Fountain Hills, Gilbert, Higley, J.O. Combs, Mesa, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Tempe. EVIT offers adult programs that allow adults to improve their current skills or learn new skills. Position Overview
EVIT is seeking a Radio Sales Independent Underwriting and Sponsorship Contractor to sell advertisements for our KVIT FM 88.7 “The Pulse,” a radio station run by the staff and students of EVIT. The funding raised through underwriting sales plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing our program.

An independent contractor is self-employed. You will enter into a contract with EVIT to sell advertising to area businesses for the on-campus radio station. You will receive a 20% commission on all net sales collected. As an Independent Contractor, you set your own hours and use your own tools. EVIT will not withhold any taxes. You will be responsible for paying your own taxes and providing your own benefits. This is a 1099 position and is not precluded from other employment unless it creates a conflict of interest.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and engage potential underwriters and sponsors who align with our diverse underwriting and advertising platforms.
• Develop and present compelling underwriting packages that highlight the benefits and exposure sponsors will receive through various platforms including over-the-air radio, live play-by-play high school sports, podcasting, online streaming, web, social media, and events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriting sponsors and partners, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
• Collaborate with our team to ensure that underwriting campaigns are executed effectively, meeting the needs and objectives of our sponsors while aligning with EVIT’s guidelines and policies.
• Track and report on underwriting collections to ensure accurate commission payments.
• All Independent Contractors will need to have a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) fingerprint card and proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957. Contractors need this since you will be on campus around students.
