WTAJ is looking for a dynamic News Anchor/MMJ to join our award-winning newsroom. This person will anchor newscasts, including weekends, and deliver the news with enthusiasm and confidence. In this role, you will also produce content for our news broadcasts and digital platforms. Strong writing, videography, and editing skills are a must! WTAJ-TV in Altoona, Pennsylvania, is hiring a News Anchor/MMJ who is a newsroom leader capable of delivering and creating news content for broadcasts and digital platforms.

• Presents news stories and content for WTAJ-TV, WTAJ+, and WTAJ.com, including social media
• Ensures all content meets journalistic standards and quality
• Acts as a dynamic presenter and storyteller
• Writes and presents news stories clearly and concisely
• Produces newscasts and communicates effectively with team members
• Assists with writing, editing, researching, and coordinating news programming
• Acts as a field reporter/MMJ, including editing
• Responds to breaking news and urgent situations
• Participates in promotional activities and public appearances
• Performs special projects and other duties as assigned
• Creates content for the website and digital platforms

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Strong news judgment and knowledge of current events, issues, and newsmakers
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
• Valid driver’s license with a good record
• Flexibility to work any shift
• Proficiency with ENPS and Adobe Premiere preferred, but not required
