Overview
The Richmond Ivy Soccer Club, an independent USL W League pre-professional women's team
located in Richmond, VA, is looking for an enthusiastic, energetic individual to be the On-field Announcer/MC during all 2025 season home games. This person will be responsible for reading clearly and enthusiastically pre- and post-match announcements, promoting and conducting our halftime activities, and using their voice and personality to entertain and energize the crowds during designated times. This individual will also deliver announcements for Richmond Ivy or Richmond Kickers special events as requested.
Duties:
- Responsible for announcing all pre-, post-, and halftime events happening on the field
- Reading clearly and enthusiastically from a pre-, post-, and halftime script produced by the Richmond Ivy staff
- Motivate, excite, and energize fans during designated times through cheering, crowd prompts, and entertainment
- This role works in close proximity to the Game Presentation Producer and the PA Announcer to ensure a smooth gameday presentation is run.
Must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job:
- Experience performing/announcing in front of a crowd and on camera
- Outgoing, confident personality
- Professional and articulate
- Ability to interact professionally with full- and part-time staff, fans, clients, and celebrities
- Must have high energy, be enthusiastic, and display positivity around the Richmond Ivy brand
- Candidates must be able to stay engaged for the entirety of the game and have solid knowledge of the game of soccer.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly desired, but not required
- Ability to adapt to quickly changing match situations
- Flexible schedule to allow commitment to all Richmond Ivy home games necessary during the 2025 season, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays to meet game/event needs
- Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (rain, high temperatures/heat, etc.).
- Must be able to perform work requiring extended periods of walking and standing
- Additional duties, expectations, demands, etc. may be added or changed on an as-needed basis to meet organizational matchday needs.
This is a paid part-time, seasonal position, and we request that the on-field host be available for all home games.
